I posted a link to PLNDR yesterday and today is a follow up with a link to Jackthreads. Jackthreads really built the mold for the referral based streetwear site and has produced many copycats in the years since. They feature sales from all of your favorite brands and you get $10 each time a friend makes their first purchase. I have gotten $100s worth of free gear from referring friends and you can too! Enjoy!

Jordan IV White/Cement Release Date
Posted: September 21, 2011 in UncategorizedTags: dropdsm, jordan, jordan iv, modern notoriety, release dates, sneakers, white/cement
The upcoming Jordan retro releases continue to pile up! They are snapping necks and emptying bank accounts of sneakerheads young and old alike. Announced today is the first retro release of the historic Jordan IV in the White/Cement colorway since 1999! This is a color that is timeless and put Jordans on a lot of people’s radar back when originally released. Tinker Hatfield hit a home run back in ‘88 on his second Jordan design with the lightweight mesh and speckled midsole previously unseen on basketball shoes at the time. This highly anticipated release will DROP on 2/18/12 just in time for a late Valentines gift to the sneaker lover in your life. 2011 was the year of the III and 2012 looks to be the year of the IV! One note on the release is the $10 price increase from the $150 standard retro pricing. This is to be expected with Nike’s plans to increase profits over the coming year. Thanks to the peeps over at Modern Notoriety for the heads up.

Collaboration is the name of the game right now in the world of fashion kicks and New Balance is definitely a leader of the pack. The traditionally running brand has gained major fashion appeal with several high profile yet limited collaborations with stores like CNCPTS and Burn Rubber. These preview shots make it look like they have no intentions of slowing down. Crooked Tongues is a London sneaker/streetwear online retailer who offers all the hot brands and free international shipping! Today they DROPPED some previews of their upcoming New Balance 1500 collaboration in its preassembled form. The color palates on these 1500s have definite promise and are sure to create some hype on the blogosphere. The first features a classic orange/black/charcoal colorway that brings to mind the first of the fall holidays. The second features a another fall friendly palate of 2 shades of green and white. Look for these to DROP at Crooked Tongues next month and stay tuned for updates. The black based pair is most definitely on my radar!

Nike Air Max 90 Black Ripstop

Normally I am a huge fan of the Air Max 90 but something about this all black colorway just doesn’t work for me. The hype has remained behind this shoe since the 20th anniversary last year and the colorways keep coming. The ripstop nylon is a nice touch but I would have liked to see a hit of color on perhaps the swoosh and tongue tag. What do you think of this recent colorway of the classic? If you dig it you can cop yours at NSW retailers like Premier (http://www.thepremierstore.com/product_detail.cfm?CatID=Search&PID=9370)

Posted: September 20, 2011 in UncategorizedTags: dropdsm, moda3, nsw, pickups, retro, sneakers
Pretty pumped on my most recent pick up on the sneaker front. The Nike Air Trainer SC II was just released in the original colorways of White/Indigo Navy-Wolf Grey-Infrared & White/Cement Grey-Neutral Grey-Citron. These Bo Jackson signatures haven’t been released in these colors for nearly 21 years and are a welcome addition to old school sneakerheads closets and young beginners alike. These releases aren’t as hyped as some of the retro Jordans and nearly a full size run is still available on Nike.com among other retailers like Moda3 in Milwaukee (http://blog.moda3.com/).

Anyone who follow sneakers knows the name Ronnie Fieg by now. He has been blowing up the collaboration scene with his works with Asics, Sebago, Converse, and more. After working with NYC retailer DavidZ for a number of years Fieg has branched out on his own to open Kith NYC, a high end fashion retail spot that will presumably feature his collabs and more.
