A quick glance through my past blog posts and you will quickly determine I am a giant New Balance fan. Even more so a fan of New Balance collaborations. Today we take a look at a new collaboration from Italy’s Stone Island sportswear brand. Stone Island is a brand known for its innovative research into fabrics that are both functional and fashionable at the same time. For their collaboration with New Balance they chose the 577 model which is a personal favorite of mine. The pack features two pairs, one muted and one a little louder reminiscent of the Milkcrate x SNS x New Balance 577 of last year. The first pair consists of a primarily grey and white upper that is comprised of Stone Island’s Raso Gommato which is satin weave cotton attached to a polyurethane cover. There is a black rubber reflective N logo hit as well as Stone Island branded tongue tags and lace locks. The shoe is finished off with a speckled grey midsole that immediately brings to mind the classic Jordan IV White Cement. The second pair from the pack features all of the same materials but in a brighter orange colorway and the same branded logo hits. The N logo hit on this pair is a reflective white rubber and they sit on a solid color midsole. These pairs are currently available at Stone Island locations in Italy and elsewhere. No further information on release at other New Balance accounts has dropped but I for one hope to get a stab at them soon! What are your thoughts of this high end collaboration? Dropping this week is a great collab from the New Balance Flimby handmade factory is a pair of 577s designed in collaboration with Stockholm’s Sneakers n Stuff and Milkcrate Athletics. While on the same model and featuring the same materials, the two shoes come from totally different sides of the design spectrum. The louder version of the two features Milkcrate’s bright colors and as he puts it “party animal” style. The pink, blue, yellow, and purple suede upper is topped off with a green new balance ‘N’ and white perforated leather on the toebox and ankle cuff. While not for this writer personally the shoes mish mash of colors surprisingly works on this model for some reason. The second model in the collab is a must for me. It features SNS more toned down design style that falls in line with both Europe retro runner style and New Balance’s style as well. Featuring a grey scale upper of the same premium suede the pack is tied together by the same perforated leather white toebox and ankle cuff. Both shoes include tonal rubber hangtags with Milkcrate/SNS branding and branded insoles as well. Check out the pics below as well as a video describing the inspiration for the collaboration. Available at a select retailers throughout the world you can picks yours up online Monday at Hanon.

The UK/US brand New Balance seems to really be pushing for the sneakerhead market of late. Once limited to euro only releases for their more fashion forward releases, the running brand is coming out with previews of a pack every week it seems. Here we look at a fall DROP of the 577 model called the Farmer’s Market Pack. The 577 has often been overshadowed by the popularity of the 574 model but these definitely do not disappoint. Featuring earthy tones and premium materials they are perfect for fall and the change of weather. Anyone else counting down the days to fall for these already?
