Le Coq Sportif is a French brand that IMO doesn’t get enough love here in the states. Other than sponsoring the Chicago Bulls’ Joakim Noah you just don’t see much from them in the US yet their popularity soars in countries like Japan and Korea as well as their native France. Taking advantage of the surge in popularity of 90s retro runners the brand is bringing back their Flash model which is sure to please fans worldwide. These shoes haven’t released to market in nearly 25 years and is returning this month. The model reemerges in strong fashion with a pair of colorways perfect for warmer weather. The first is a silver/grey/purple/black makeup featuring synthetic suede for most of the upper and a shiny smooth mesh on the toe box and quarter overlay. Its a primarily basic tone with the purple used as highlights on the midsole, logo, and base of the lace section. The second pair uses an identical makeup only swapping out the purple hits with royal blue. Its a perfect throwback to the 90s and sure to please. These will release at several European retailers this month including Hanon. Will you be adding these to your collection? Let me know in the comments below!

Nike Roshe Run ID – AVAILABLE

The Nike twitter had been hinting at it all weekend but its finally here. The Nike Roshe Run ID is available on Nike store. You can design the regular version HERE for $110 and the Premium Suede version HERE for $120. I played around with both versions a little bit and really like the options they made available. There are both brighter and toned done colors and you can customize the overlay, toe, lining, swoosh, out sole, tongue/heel loops, and of course the laces. I messed around and made both a Salmon Toe and a Rose Gold inspired version with the Salmon Toe being mesh and the Rose Gold the premium suede. Given that the Roshe has been arguably the most popular singular silhouette for Nike the past year I am sure we will see plenty of examples of these in months to come. Do you plan to make a pair? Let’s hear about your design in the comments below!
The Hundreds Footwear Spring/Summer Delivery 1

Today we take a look at not 1 shoe but a collection of shoes that just DROPPED for the Spring/Summer season from California brand The Hundreds. The Hundreds is a personal favorite of mine in the clothing realm and their footwear is getting better and better with each season. The first DROP of their spring/summer collection features several well known lifestyle models such as the classic Johnson mid and lows, Riley low, and the Valenzuela low and high as well as two of their newer running shoe inspired models the Scully and Hoya. A couple of the standouts of the well known models for me are the Chambray Johnson mid and the Chambray Johnson low. Both shoes feature a chambray upper sitting atop an all white vulcanized midsole for a clean look. The mid version is a grey chambray and the low is a sweet baby blue. The shoes feature red liners as well as a red “bomb” logo hit on the back for a little bit of pop to an otherwise toned down palette. Also in the DROP, as mentioned, are a Scully and 2 Hoya silhouettes. The Hoyas are part of what they are calling the “Marble Pack” and come in both a khaki and black upper sitting atop brightly colored ‘marbled’ midsoles that I personally feel have a little too much going on but are sure to be popular in the right circles. Their leather and mesh combo uppers are comparable to something we would see from a runner out of that company up in Beaverton. The last shoe I am mentioning is the super star of the whole DROP to me, the Scully in an Infrared makeup. Featuring an almost all infrared leather upper with 3M and black detailing these shoes standout to say the least. As you can see in the picture above they look great and can you really ever go wrong with a grey/black/infrared combo? You can purchase the entire spring/summer drop HERE or at your favorite The Hundreds retailer nationwide. Plan to pick up one or several from this line? Let us know in the comments below!
Staple x Puma Clyde – Upcoming Pigeon Release?

Typically speaking one would think that pumas and pigeons would not be the best of friends in the animal world. It appears the same is not the case in the sneaker world as photos have popped up via TSG of Jeff Staple’s most recent sneaker collaboration. The model of choice looks to be the Puma Clyde and the look will be familiar to many. This rendition of the Clyde is the closest match to the original Pigeon Nike Dunk Low SB that we have seen from Staple designs since that riot inducing release. The shoes are made up of a two tone grey premium suede upper with a pink liner and outsole. The familiar Pigeon sits proudly on the back ankle which is nice to see after its absence on the recent New Balance collaboration with Staple. Will these create the same sort of hype and chaos as the Dunks? Only time will tell. Take a look at the picture below and let me know what you think!

Following up on a previous post (here) we take a look at the first images of the Nike x UNDFTD Bringback Pack. The pack consists of 2 versions of the dunk high. The classic Nike Dunk High and the updated version the Nike Hyperdunk. Both shoes are dressed in an all white upper with and UNDFTD strikes logo on the heel cup. The dunk is very similar to the original Dunk by Eddie Cruz and crew in 2001. Sitting atop gum outsoles these shoes keep it simple but stylish. Releasing this Saturday, February 9th these are sure to go fast. A full list of locations is not available but you can assume at least all UNDFTD locations will have the pack. Were you hoping for something more detailed from UNDFTD or are you wet at the beak to cop this pack? Take a look at the pics via sneakernews and lets us know below!
Jordan 1 Retro High OG

In honor of today’s Jordan Retro III ’88 release (4:51pm EST via Nike twitter link if you’re looking) we take a look at another classic coming soon. Here we have the Jordan Retro High OG in the Black and Royal colorway. The Jordan 1 has been dressed in about a thousand different colorways and shapes but nothing quite tops the original colorways in the High. These shoes started something never seen before in basketball kicks, a signature shoe not in the player’s team colors. Comprised of an all leather, two tone upper the formula is flawless. Sitting on the typical white midsole and then blue outsole its just an all around complete package perfect for any look. The big deal with this particular release is the return of “Nike Air” on the tongue versus the Jumpman logo that has been occupying that spot for several years. Jordan heads are rejoicing at this return as its the closest retro to the original ever released. These will be DROPPING at Nike and other Jordan accounts next Saturday the 16th and are sure to sell out with the quickness. Will you be picking up this piece of history? Take a look at a few more pics and let us know in the comments!
Air Jordan Retro V Grape

Grails. That’s really all I need to say about the Jordan V Retro ‘Grape’. I remember when they came out when I was in 5th grade. I remember begging my parents to get them for me. I remember the usual “shoes should not cost more than $100” speech and going home empty handed. I remember Fresh Prince wearing them. I remember Jerry Seinfeld wearing them. Of course I remember the GOAT wearing them. It just wasn’t meant to be at the time. In 2006 they returned and I was in my first year of owning a home and money was tight. Wasn’t meant to be again. Then in the past few years the rumors started flying about a Grape/Laney V 2-pack. I followed every story, post, and photo with Christmas morning like excitement. Alas, not meant to be again. All of that anticipation is finally coming to an end this May 4th. Jordan brand is bringing back the Jordan V Grape and I can’t wait!! I don’t know what it is about this shoe that just caught me. Perhaps it was the difference in colors that strayed from the Bulls standard. Maybe it was my love for LJ and the Hornets at the time. Whatever it is the primarily white upper sitting atop that fighter jet inspired purple and emerald midsole and icy outsole is just a beautiful look. I was slightly concerned with what quality these would be given recent Jordan releases but after grabbing the Fire Red Vs this past weekend I am ready. Have you been waiting for this release like I have? Take a look at the extra photos below and let me know in the comments. May can’t get here soon enough!!!
Nike x UDFTD 2-8-13

We all know UNDFTD is huge in the sneaker game. We all know about the Fukijamas from Entourage, the UNDFTD Jordan IVs, the AF1s, the Dunks, and more. Well it looks like another episode is coming in this saga on February 8th. UDFTD posted to their Intagram today the above image with the text “Nike x UNDFTD 02.08.13”. No word yet on what model it will be or if its even sneakers for that matter. Remember the Staple x Jordan brand teaser? Given UNDFTD’s history you can bet I will be watching. Something tells me the coloring of this graphic is not a mistake. Stay tuned……
New Balance 998 Pebble Blue by J.Crew

J. Crew is no stranger to collaborations. A quick glance at their online store shows collaborations on everything from boots and sneakers to backpacks and jackets as well. Personally I feel that incorporating their distinguished looks into other brand’s merchandise is a great way for J.Crew to stay relevant across many different segments of consumers. We all know that “sneakerheads” are a huge segment of consumers that is growing every day and this most recent release from J.Crew will please a lot of us. As you can see above I am referring to the most recent New Balance collaboration, this time on the 998 model that has been seeing a resurgence over the past few years. The model was previously only available in Japan but I know I am happy to see it stateside again. This particular combination features a great color combo that will work with just about anything you happen to be rocking at the time. The upper is covered predominantly in a two tone brownish suede that appears just as plush as the materials used on the popular 1400 collaborations by the brands in 2012. Giving the DROP some pop is a royal blue N logo and more royal blue branding on the tongue. Sitting atop a predominantly white midsole with yet another royal blue hit that continues on to the outsole these are just total stunters in every way. The build shines with Made in the USA craftsmanship that gives a premium feel before you even get them on your feet. These are currently available exclusively through jcrew.com (here) and will be popping up at their stores across the country as well. What are your thoughts on this new makeup by the two powerhouse brands? Let me know in the comments below. Mega shouts to Vagrant Sneaker for the always stunning photos.
