Fall is here across the country and what better time to get back into this blog thing. Today we take a look at a great sneaker collaboration from the, relatively speaking, new to the scene shop Bait out in Diamond Bar, CA. I say relatively as the shop is the brick and mortar iteration of Eric Cheng owner of the popular web retailer Bait opened its doors in 2012 and hit the ground running with a multi-shoe Asics collaboration dubbed the “5 rings” pack. In my opinion the pack was a little all over the place and thus didn’t have the success typically seen with collaborative sneaker releases. In the past year Bait has collabed on several other shoes and brands(thankfully one at a time). The results proved much more successful and focused. For this go round they have chosen the Asics Gel Saga silhouette and named them the Phantom Lagoons. The Gel Saga is a model that isn’t quite as popular as its brand mates the GL3 or GT2 but when done right on materials and color blocking can be a stunner in its own right. The Phantom Lagoons definitely fall into that category for me featuring velvet suede and perforated nubuck uppers in a great mix of colors. Its tough to go wrong with purple and navy and Bait has done superbly sticking with the phantom theme dressing the suede in each of them. The perf nubuck is seen mostly in a teal blue hue that takes you straight to thoughts of tropical water and the additional white hit on the tongue is a nice touch. Laced up with two tone rope laces the shoes pop from top to bottom. The Asics Gel Saga Phantom Lagoons release today in store at Bait as well as on their website at 12pm PST. Take a look at some additional shots via Sneakernews Select after the jump and let me know if you’ll be copping in the comments below!

New Balance is back. Not that it ever went anywhere but the surge in popularity of retro runners has definitely boded well for the Brighton Mass company that specializes in premium craftsmanship on everything from retro runners to modern day tech. Here we take a look at a new colorway of the 670 model. This is a model that has typically had more popularity in Europe that the United States and shares a lot of attributes with the New Balance staple 574. The 670 has also been featured in several high profile collaborations with such brands as Wood Wood, Hanon, and Norse Projects. This makeup comes in a familiar colorway of navy, red, and white we have seen on many models recently. The majority of the upper is a semi rough navy suede that gives that always premium feel to New Balance releases. Subtle highlights come in the form of a one piece rubberized “N”, heel cup, and encap in a darker shade of red. All this sits atop a white midsole and all black outsole. While very similar to the 574 overall these shoes have a less rugged feel with the smoothed out traction bars on the outsole and a more streamlined shape. The official model name for this shoe is the 670SNR where the S refers to the 3 pack of these that will release this spring at New Balance accounts. Will this returning model surpass the ever popular 574 in 2013? Only time will tell but take a look at the pics below and let me know your thoughts!

Popping up over on NiceKicks today we see the upcoming colorways of the popular runner from Nike the Air Pegasus ‘92. This group of DROPs features a lot of outdoors inspired colorways and materials that just seem to be showing up everywhere right now. The first is a cream/blue/orange makeup that is obviously inspired by the popular Moab ACG colorway. Its the brightest of the 4 and will probably be the most successful DROP. I really enjoy the second shoe shown below in the brown/violet/copper makeup as I am always a sucker for purple hits on shoes. These will start making their way to retailers in the coming months. Head over to the NiceKicks link to see more pics. Which DROP will you COP?

Remember the late 80s and early 90s? I remember my parents making me leave my Starter Hornets jacket in the car when we were at the mall!

I would have to say that from a clothing standpoint The Hundreds is my personal favorite brand right now for a lot of reasons. I love their 80s attitude, color palate, and art work but I also love the way they go about things and approach their audience. Their footwear line has been a HUGE success in the current trend of vulc soles and lifestyle shoes. I like them but still lean more towards athletic kicks. This new boot pack for fall has definitely caught my attention though! Featuring 3 of their popular silhouettes (all named after cali baseball players) the Johnson, Wayne, and Riley this pack is perfect for the change in seasons. It showcases classical hiking boot styling with brown leather, gum soles, and those well known red laces.
