New Balance is back. Not that it ever went anywhere but the surge in popularity of retro runners has definitely boded well for the Brighton Mass company that specializes in premium craftsmanship on everything from retro runners to modern day tech. Here we take a look at a new colorway of the 670 model. This is a model that has typically had more popularity in Europe that the United States and shares a lot of attributes with the New Balance staple 574. The 670 has also been featured in several high profile collaborations with such brands as Wood Wood, Hanon, and Norse Projects. This makeup comes in a familiar colorway of navy, red, and white we have seen on many models recently. The majority of the upper is a semi rough navy suede that gives that always premium feel to New Balance releases. Subtle highlights come in the form of a one piece rubberized “N”, heel cup, and encap in a darker shade of red. All this sits atop a white midsole and all black outsole. While very similar to the 574 overall these shoes have a less rugged feel with the smoothed out traction bars on the outsole and a more streamlined shape. The official model name for this shoe is the 670SNR where the S refers to the 3 pack of these that will release this spring at New Balance accounts. Will this returning model surpass the ever popular 574 in 2013? Only time will tell but take a look at the pics below and let me know your thoughts!

A quick glance through my past blog posts and you will quickly determine I am a giant New Balance fan. Even more so a fan of New Balance collaborations. Today we take a look at a new collaboration from Italy’s Stone Island sportswear brand. Stone Island is a brand known for its innovative research into fabrics that are both functional and fashionable at the same time. For their collaboration with New Balance they chose the 577 model which is a personal favorite of mine. The pack features two pairs, one muted and one a little louder reminiscent of the Milkcrate x SNS x New Balance 577 of last year. The first pair consists of a primarily grey and white upper that is comprised of Stone Island’s Raso Gommato which is satin weave cotton attached to a polyurethane cover. There is a black rubber reflective N logo hit as well as Stone Island branded tongue tags and lace locks. The shoe is finished off with a speckled grey midsole that immediately brings to mind the classic Jordan IV White Cement. The second pair from the pack features all of the same materials but in a brighter orange colorway and the same branded logo hits. The N logo hit on this pair is a reflective white rubber and they sit on a solid color midsole. These pairs are currently available at Stone Island locations in Italy and elsewhere. No further information on release at other New Balance accounts has dropped but I for one hope to get a stab at them soon! What are your thoughts of this high end collaboration? Take a look at the pictures courtesty of High Snobiety and let me know in the comments below!

Today we take a look at the sneaker world’s most popular collaborator Ronnie Fieg’s  newest project with New Balance. Not a ton of details are known about the release yet but Ronnie just put up a front view on Instagram stating “salmon soles”. The shoe features the premium materials and color pop we have come to expect from his releases and the 1300 model is the lucky one to get “fiegstepped” this time. The 1300 is a premium model and Ronnie’s self proclaimed favorite model of all time. He used the steel blue colorway as the inspiration for his last New Balance collab 999. Sitting on a salmon colored sole the upper features a primarily navy suede upper with a cove blue logo hit. A white midsole and liner add a little contrast and complete the look. After being told that the “N” logo is indeed a cove blue I have come up with some speculation as to the design inspiration. Given the time of year and the colors being used I feel this shoe is a tribute to Fieg’s past releases of Cove and Salmon Toe GL3s. Both shoes dropped in September of 2010 and 2011 respectively. Given the past pattern of Kith releases it can be expected that this new iteration will drop in the next 2 weeks or so. Is a Kithstrike on the way? Stay tuned to @kithset and @ronniefieg on twitter and be ready!

As mentioned before, collaborations are the name of the game in collectible sneakers these days. They typically feature special colorways and premium materials that make the sole freaks go nuts. This latest collaboration from New Balance and West NYC Sneaker boutique is no different. The model chosen as a canvas for this design is the MT580 that has been making a resurgence in popularity thanks to Detroit shop Burn Rubber and their 3 collabs on the shoe. For this iteration West NYC’s owner Lester Wasserman went back to the 90s for some inspiration from alpine and ski wear that was popular at the time. Wasserman loves the outdoors and was going for a look that gave that feel while still staying true to the MT580s running style. The results are nothing short of fantastic. Featuring a primarily grey premium suede upper and hits of teal and purple throughout this shoe will definitely turns heads coast to coast. The black midsole with teal speckles is sure to please and the look is completed with rope style outdoor laces. One of my personal favorite details is the rubber tongue emblem also done up in a teal and purple look. These are schedule to DROP September 22nd at WestNYC and details are still being released. Based on the initial shots a tshirt will also be available in complimentary colors. Take a look at the photos below and let me know if you will be plotting to cop your pair in a little over a week! Thanks to a gentleman by the name of Ronnie Fieg, Asics collaborations have been majorly in the spotlight of sneaker culture of late. The interesting thing about that is that Asics has been killing the collaboration market overseas for years. Today we take a look at another in a long saga of amazing collabs. The Asics Gel Lyte III Cervidae is a shoe created in honor of Woei’s 5th anniversary. Woei is a Dutch sneaker boutique located in Rotterdam, Netherlands. For this makeup Woei chose the Cervidae, a deer found in Europe, as its inspiration. The shoes are covered in brown and tan suedes with navy stripes. Special golden logo hits are featured on the rear side and back heel. Sitting on white midsoles and a matching tan outsole these are stunners to say the least. Set to release in Rotterdam on June 30th and Worldwide July 7th the collaboration is sure to be an international hit. Take a look at the pics below and let me know your thoughts!

Nike Air Max Poster

Recently opened in Shoreditch London is an absolutely awesome new look at your typical shopping locale. We are all familiar with pop-up shops but this idea by fashion guru Roger Wade of Boxfresh and real estate developers Hammerson and Ballymore is more of an entire pop-up mall. Built from shipping containers the project features small retail shops by several big hitters such as The North Face, Vans, and Nike as well as smaller retailers and food/art spots throughout. I truly think is the wave of the future in retail as you can have an essentially mobile alternative to the retail strip mall. I could see these being a huge hit at music festivals throughout the world as well as tourist destinations that are bigger certain times of the year like New Orleans for Mardi Gras or even areas of NYC for fashion week (though we all know NYC is always poppin). Take a look at a few images below and then go to Hypebeast to check out more. What are your thoughts on this new look of retail?

You can’t blink these days without seeing something that Kanye is involved in. Women’s fashion designer is his newest moniker. Debuting during Paris fashion week is Dw by Kanye West. The collection is a high end, high fashion line that features a variety of looks and styles but still screams Yeezy. While the men of the world anticipate the release of the Nike Air Yeezy 2, our female counterparts can watch for Dw to DROP in Spring/Summer 2012. Head over to Hypebeast for more pics. Do you think it was a hit or should Kanye stick to beats and sneakers?

What can I say? I am a sucker for a good bag. I often find myself trying to justify a reason to own more than 1 bag for various scenarios. This new DROP from Porter and BAPE is no different. The collection is a follow up to their very successful summer collection and definitely doesn’t disappoint. Featuring a classic BAPE camo print and typical Porter high quality these are a great way to add a little pop to your day to day. The collection features backpacks, duffles, wallets, totes, and more. Head over to Hypebeast for the full gallery and watch for the DROP at A Bathing Ape retail stores and online retailers.
